Everyone started forming lines and walked towards the assembly ground.
Some students made annoyed faces because they hated attending the morning assembly, while others were irritated by Anaya Maheshwari's strict attitude.
Just then, Anaya's eyes fell on her best friend, Myra kapoor, who was completely lost in reading a novel, unaware of everything happening around her.
"Hello, madam! Kitna padhti rehti hai? Line bana le!" Anaya called out with a smile.
"Oh... sorry! Maine suna hi nahi. Abhi aati hoon." Myra quickly packed her bag and joined her.
As they walked towards the line, Anaya looked at the book in her hand.
"Waise tu in books mein aisa kya padhti rehti hai?" she asked curiously.
"Kuch nahi... Tu nahi samjhegi. Tu padhaku hai, tujhe samajh nahi aayega," Myra replied dramatically.
"Accha? Aisa kya hai? Bata toh sahi."
Myra smiled dreamily.
"It's nothing... Bas fictional characters ke baare mein padhti hoon. Abhi jo novel maine padhi,
usmein ek ladki ko ek aisa ladka milta hai jo itna handsome, charming aur caring hota hai ki usse dekhte hi woh sab kuch bhool jaati hai."
Anaya burst into laughter.
"Pagal hai tu! Real life mein aisa kuch nahi hota. Agar itni hi books padhne ki jagah padhai karti na, toh first aa jaati."
Myra pouted.
"Dekhlena... Mujhe bhi ek din koi na koi zaroor milega. Jise dekhkar main bhi sab kuch bhool jaungi."
"Hahaha... Nice joke! Chal, assembly ka time ho gaya. Mujhe stage par jaana hai."
With that, Anaya left her friend standing in the line and confidently walked towards the stage.
On the Stage
Adjusting the microphone, Anaya spoke in her calm yet confident voice,
"Good Morning, everyone. Students, please stand properly in your respective lines. The assembly is about to begin."
Her confident aura immediately grabbed everyone's attention.
As she was about to leave the stage, one of the teachers stopped her.
"Anaya, I'll manage the assembly. The PT teacher is absent today. Can you please check the latecomers and note down their names?"
"Yes, Ma'am."
She nodded politely and walked upstairs to where the late students were waiting.
On the Other Side
Anay Ranawat and Shaurya Sharma stood together, both late as usual.
"Yaar, yeh kaisa school hai? Sirf 10 minute late hone par itna drama! Inka kuch toh karna padega," Anay said irritably.
Shaurya laughed.
"Koi baat nahi, beta. Hum kaunsa pehli baar late aaye hain? Aaram se khada ho ja."
"Par yeh kitni der tak khada rakhenge? Aur yeh ladki kaun hai jo sabke naam likh rahi hai?" Anay sighed with frustration
"Prayer chal rahi hai, isliye. Aur woh late students ke names note kar rahi hogi." Shaurya replied calmly
"Hell no! Mera naam likhegi? Itni himmat? Kuch na kuch toh karna padega." Anay said while irration is coming from his voice
At the same moment, Anaya noticed him continuously talking.
She frowned.
"Hello, you! Pehle toh late aaye ho, upar se tab se bas baatein hi kiye jaa rahe ho. Andar prayer chal rahi hai. Thodi der chup reh sakte ho?"
Since the distance was a little far, she couldn't see his face properly.
"You... come here and stand at the front."
Anay clenched his jaw.
"How dare she? Mujhe tokne ki himmat kaise hui?"
Mohit, who was standing beside him, whispered,
"Tujhe pata nahi? Yeh school ki Head Girl hai. Yahan iski kaafi chalti hai."
Anay smirked.
"Ohh... Head Girl hai? Tabhi itna attitude hai. Koi baat nahi... Jaldi hi mujhe jaan jayegi."
Anaya's voice echoed again.
"Aapko samajh nahi aaya? Kitni baatein karte ho. Aage aao."
Shaurya laughed quietly.
"Lagta hai Head Girl ko teri yaad aa rahi hai."
Anay walked to the front with the same arrogant attitude.
As he came closer, Anaya looked at him carefully.
"Yeh kaun hai? Isse pehle kabhi nahi dekha... Lagta hai new admission hai."
She folded her arms.
"Toh new admission ho? Tabhi itna bol rahe ho. Lagta hai aapko school ke rules ka pata nahi."
Anay was about to reply, but she interrupted him.
Turning towards all the late students, she announced,
"Everyone, this behaviour will not be tolerated in this school. From next time, be on time. Now, you all may leave."
Everyone left except Anay, whose eyes remained fixed on her.
"Mr. Bakbak... Aapko alag se bolna padega kya? Aap bhi ja sakte hain."
Instead of leaving, he walked closer to her.
Closing the distance, he bent slightly to match her height, a teasing smirk playing on his lips.
"Oh hello, Ms. Rule book... Tum jaanti nahi ho main kaun hoon."
Without stepping back, Anaya looked straight into his eyes.
"Lagta hai aap bhi nahi jaante ki main kaun hoon."
Her voice carried authority.
"Ek toh galti karte ho, upar se attitude dikhate ho. Zarurat padi toh principal ma'am se direct complaint karungi."
Anay rolled his eyes carelessly.
"Ohh... Kar do. Mujhe koi problem nahi."
Just then, the school in-charge arrived during her round.
"Kya hua, Anaya? Tum abhi tak class mein kyun nahi gayi?"
"Good Morning, Ma'am."
Anaya greeted respectfully.
"Ma'am, yeh new admission hai. Pehle late aaye, aur ab mujhse misbehave bhi kar rahe hain."
The teacher turned towards him.
"Tum Mr. Ranawat ke bete ho na?"
"Yes, Ma'am."
She spoke firmly.
"Dekho, beta. Yeh tumhara ghar nahi, school hai. Yahan sabko discipline follow karna hota hai. Agar dobara kisi ke saath, especially Anaya ya kisi bhi student ke saath misbehaviour hua, toh main tolerate nahi karungi. It's only your first day. I hope you understand."
She left after giving him a warning.
Anay looked towards Anaya with an annoyed expression.
"Huh... Tumhari wajah se mujhe daant sunni padi."
Anaya simply smiled and walked away without saying a word, leaving him even more frustrated.
He watched her disappear down the corridor.
"Interesting... Pehli ladki mili hai jo mujhse bilkul nahi darti."
A small smile appeared on his face.
